New opportunities as we adapt to a new world

National Workforce has supplied recruitment services to the hospitality and events industry for over ten years including working at flagship events such as the Grand Prix and the Australian Open.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospitality industry slowed down with the temporary closure of some venues and the postponement of events. While this has been a challenge, it has also brought new opportunities for hospitality and events workers.

‘We have recruited for a range of new roles including COVID Marshals and Hygiene Officers,’ says Chrystal Burns from the National Workforce Hospitality team. ‘These roles are vital in ensuring venues can operate effectively during this time and continue to run smoothly. Hospitality candidates looking for work should consider these types of roles and how they can apply their existing skillset. It goes without saying, we are living in an ever-changing world and candidates who can demonstrate that they too can adapt, will make great additions to venue and events teams.’

Positions already filled in this space include general glass pick-up staff, COVID-19 Marshals who assist patrons to sign-in to venues and perform temperature checks, as well as Hygiene Officers who complete regular rounds of venues to clean and sanitise spaces.
